Raycast Integration

Search, create and update Velocity issues from Raycast on macOS.

Coming Soon: the extension is implemented for development use. Native screenshots and Raycast Store publication are pending. A Store installation link will appear here after publication.

Development installation

On a Mac with Raycast and Node 22.22.2 or newer installed, clone the extension source. In extensions/raycast, run npm ci then npm run dev to import the commands into Raycast.

Connect your account

  1. Open Velocity Settings → Account → API Keys and generate a personal key beginning velu_. Choose Read Profile, List Workspaces, Read Issues and Write Issues.
  2. Paste it into the extension’s Personal API Key password preference. Raycast stores password preferences encrypted.
  3. Optionally set Default Workspace Slug. Otherwise choose a workspace in any command; Raycast remembers the selection for your account.
  4. Open Search Issues. The workspace picker tooltip shows the signed-in user, and the selected workspace appears in the picker.

Use a personal API key rather than an MCP server key. Your workspace membership controls access. Changing a workspace starts a new view and clears the issue creation form.

Commands

CommandWhat it does

Quick Status UpdateSearch for an issue, open the Change Status action and select its new status.

Issue lists load 50 results at a time. Choose Load More Issues to fetch another page. Assign Raycast hotkeys to the commands you use most often.

Troubleshooting

For access errors, check the key, scopes, workspace slug and current membership in Extension Preferences, then retry. For rate limits, wait before retrying. Failed mutations show a toast and preserve the creation form. If a request timed out, check Velocity before resubmitting to avoid creating a duplicate.

Screenshots and Store release

Native command screenshots will be added after macOS testing. The release handoff includes the native review, screenshot capture and publisher setup steps.
