Bitbucket
Keep Bitbucket Cloud repository activity connected to tracked work.
Current availability
New account authorization is not currently enabled on hosted Velocity. The steps below describe the implemented connection for an instance with its provider OAuth application configured. Existing configured connections can use the signed webhook workflow. Use the public integration catalog to find workflows currently available on hosted Velocity.
Connect your workspace
- As a workspace owner or admin, open Settings → Integrations and choose Connect on Bitbucket. Complete the account authorization and return to Velocity.
- Open the connected Bitbucket integration and copy its Webhook URL. Generate a secret in the webhook secret panel and copy it while it is shown. If you replace an existing secret, update the repository webhook during the displayed overlap window.
- In the Bitbucket Cloud repository settings, add a webhook using the Velocity URL and shared secret. Select repository push and the pull request created, updated, merged and declined events you need.
Bitbucket's webhook documentation explains the repository controls. Velocity verifies the signed raw callback before processing it.
Reference the issue
Include a Velocity identifier such as WEB-42 in a pull request title or branch, or in the relevant commit message. Supported callbacks record activity against a matching issue in the connected workspace, with a link back to the original change.
Verify the connection
Create a harmless test pull request referencing an existing issue in this workspace. Inspect the webhook delivery in Bitbucket, then check the Velocity integration event, source link and issue comment. Recheck the selected events, identifier and secret if the expected activity does not appear.
Account authorization and a repository webhook are separate steps. OAuth alone does not register a webhook for every repository. Agent delivery options can have their own repository/provider requirements.
