Getting Started
Set up Velocity and start tracking work in under five minutes.
What is Velocity?
Velocity is a keyboard-first, AI-native project management tool built for engineering teams. It combines issue tracking, project planning, documents, and integrations into a single fast experience. A built-in MCP server lets AI agents create issues, search tasks, and manage projects directly.
Create Your Workspace
Sign up
Create an account at app.velocity.dev/signup using your email or sign in with Google. You will be redirected to the onboarding wizard.
Name your workspace
Choose a name and URL slug for your workspace. This is how your team will access Velocity — for example, velocity.dev/acme.
Invite your team
Enter email addresses to invite team members. They will receive an invitation link. You can also skip this step and invite people later from Settings → Members.
Create a team
Teams group related issues and cycles. A typical setup might have teams like “Engineering”, “Design”, or “Platform”. You can create more teams later.
Create Your First Issue
Once inside your workspace, press C to open the inline issue creator, or click the + button in the toolbar. Enter a title, set the priority and status, and press Enter to save.
Use Cmd+K to open the command palette. From there you can quickly create issues, search, navigate to any page, or trigger actions.
